Corporate Planning for Organisations by SLF - a successful Initiative

There is an inclination to believe that any public institution which depicts itself as an example of poor governance that such an institution should be operated like private sector business organisations. This is not equally applicable to all public institutions as there are certain limitations of the delivery patterns. The private and public sectors are significantly different to each other as far as good governance is concerned. However people expect any entity to be operated like a private sector institution irrespective of their product or service domain.

Sri Lanka Foundation (SLF) is expanding its services to a wider mandate as a center for leadership, education and training. The Business and Enterprise Development Unit is one of the main arms of SLF which is striving to establish fully fledged business and management studies by itself and in collaboration with local and international strategic partners. The Corporate planning initiative is one of the most sought after services  from the SLF by many business and government entities. At present more than 15 institutions have obtained this service and the SLF is pleased to extend  this service to organisations ,as a task of national importance in establishing good governance in these institutions.

As we know any successful organization should steer with a vision, mission and corporate objectives /goals. When an organization is focussing on its desired future with a greater sense of preparedness, they are in a rational position to successfully encounter their operations. All organizations should be conscious of  value design before  concentrating on value administration. One should take their corporate planning seriously to drive the organization to the expected standards.  SLF assists to revisit the set vision and mission statements of the organization, develop new statements and frame the corporate outline for final deliverables.
